​Descrition

The tour starts with a brief introduction to the building, including the €375M renovation works and its unique bike passageway.

After visiting the late Gothic Flemish and Italian masters, we continue to explore the Gallery of Honour and its incredible collection of the great masters, such as Rembrandt, Vermeer and Steen. The highlights include The Night Watch, The Milk Maid, The Jewish Bride, etc. 

The modern period will represented by Van Gogh and Breitner, and some relevant 21st century works. 

Besides the museum highlights, we will also cover strange and rare artefacts and incredible stories: prison escapes, naval warfare, world-class dollhouses, artic expeditions and more - including the beautiful Cuyper’s Library, with its fantasy-tale atmosphere and unique book collection.

A fun, intelligent and surprising museum tour, that really digs into Dutch culture!

  • the casket used by Hugo de Groot to evade from prison
  • the clock found at Nova Zembla island (in the Artic), 300 years after the aborted expedition of Willem Barentsz
  • the amazing dollhouse of Petronella Oortman
